Systems to support learning
Year 9 Easter SATS Revision Classes:
To ensure that our Year 9s have the best possible chance of success in the upcoming SATs, the school will be running Easter Revision Classes on the following days. All Year 9s are welcome to attend these important classes:
Tuesday 15th April 9.30 – 12.30 - Science
Wednesday 16th April 9.30 – 12.30 – English
Thursday 17th April 9.30 – 12.30 – Mathematics
Year 11 Easter Revision Classes:
Our annual Easter revision school for Year 11 pupils will be taking place this year from Tuesday 15th – Friday 18th April. This is a great opportunity for pupils to attend sessions specifically designed to revise course content prior to the commencement of the GCSE written papers. All subjects will be offered and there will be a timetable of sessions for pupils to choose from. Pupils wishing to attend Easter Revision School should apply for the course when application forms are published later this term. I would be very grateful to parents / carers for encouraging their children to attend.
Provision for basic skills is good with the school recognising the need to enhance literacy skills even more. A wide range of out-of-hours activities especially in the arts, information and communication technology and sport, enriches students' learning. The options available through the science specialist status have a good impact on broadening option choices. High take-up in drama and music enables students to participate in regular public performance. Students benefit from a wealth of educational visits and the interesting range of external visitors.
