Pastoral Care - Year 9 gosfield Road
Message from the Head of Year: Mr Hamill ( Head of Work Related Learning and Careers Education)
Year 9 is a crucial stage in every pupils educational development with options selections for Key Stage Four, SATs examinations in May and, throughout the year, strategic career planning to ensure that pupils' aspirations become reality.
Robert Clack School offers a diverse and high quality curriculum in Year 9. This is extended further at Key Stage Four through our close links with local colleges and professional partnerships with the United Kingdom's top business organisations.
Throughout the academic year, Year 9 can participate in various extra curricular clubs such as Science, Maths and English SATs revision classes, ,art clubs,ICT together with the whole range of sporting activities at our state of the art Leisure Centre.
The recognition of pupil achievement is demonstrated on a weekly basis with pupils receiving Scientist of the Week certificates,Pupil of the Week awards and positive referrals during assemblies.All pupils in year 9 have the opportunities to engage in various educational visits and merit visits for those who have worked particularly hard during the academic year

Care, guidance and support are outstanding. Students are positive about the effective pastoral system that contributes to the 'family-like' community in the school. Students feel safe in school, supported by the high levels of supervision throughout the day. There are outstanding links with local authority and other external agencies so that vulnerable students including looked after children are well cared for. Careers advice and support are excellent and ensure that students are well informed about the options available to them for the next stage of education and working life. Systematic whole-school procedures rigorously check on students' academic progress. Day-to-day guidance to students on how to improve their performance is very effective.
